I think one of the biggest customer service issues I have is with waiters/waitresses.  I have been a waitress on several occasions in my life and have made fantastic tips.  Reason I made such fantastic tips is because I knew how to treat the customer, making sure I took their drink order when they sat down, making sure I knew the menu, making sure to check back once they had a chance to taste their meal, things like that.  Listening to their requests and handling them in an expedient manner.

I guess that is why I ask the same of them.  I don't generally have too many special requests as I am not a fussy eater.  But the one thing I do ask for is that they DON'T put lemon in my iced tea.  But it never fails that they come to me with a glass of iced tea with a lemon in it. 

And there are so many instances of waiters/waitresses just not doing their jobs.  If you have an instance you'd like to share, please feel free to comment.  I'd love to hear your stories!

TalkShoe-Speak Up about Piss Poor Customer Service

I justed wanted to let everyone know that I have recently started delivering a Talkcast (Podcast) on TalkShoe.com. TalkShoe is using technology to allow anyone who is willing to provide content on a consistent basis the opportunity to have their own "Talk Show." I use it for my business but recently decided to take this Piss Poor Customer Service idea to the next level. I'm really interested in having these TalkCasts be as interactive as possible. Lord knows, I have enough stories to probably last a lifetime but I don't want this to be just about my experiences alone. Bad, Companies, Bad!!

All I can say is that I've had about all I can handle when it comes to piss poor customer service-which, by the way also includes tech support in a lot of cases, by any and all forms of companies. In this day and age when there is so much competition, globally and locally, you wouldn't think companies and their employees would be acting the way they do. Very few companies take pride in making sure the customer has a good experience. And very few care if you don't-and won't do anything to fix it. The stance that is prevalent is "we don't need you as a customer." OK, well, when you are on the unemployment line because your company went under-we'll see what your atttitude is then.

I own my own company and couldn't fathom treating my customers the way I've been treated.

I've decided to start this blog just to get my frustration off my chest. My hope is that others will see the companies and the bad experiences and think twice before using the companies involved. Please feel free to post your bad experiences as well. Companies have to learn that bad press can indeed hurt their bottom line.
